The woman attended to him immediately

A video has shown the incredible moment an heroic off-duty nurse saves the life of a builder after he was stabbed and left for dead on the street.

The harrowing video footage shows the dressed down woman on her knees performing CPR as she desperately attempts to keep the blood soaked stranger alive.

The 41-year-old man can be heard wheezing as he gasps for breath as she pumps down on to his chest on the pavement of a packed commuter street.

Witnesses claim the man had stopped breathing and his body had begun to shut down after the brutal daylight stabbing.

But thanks to the courageous efforts of the mystery Good Samaritan, he was saved from dying there and then.

Dressed in black trousers and a loose fitting t-shirt, the fearless nurse got the man breathing again after working on him for a full five minutes before paramedics finally made it to the scene.

The victim was rushed in a life-threatening condition to Southmead Hospital, Bristol, following the altercation and remains in a critical but stable condition, police said.

According to Daily Mail, the dramatic incident took place in Easton, Bristol, at around 6.40pm on Monday evening.

Asked not to be named, the man who filmed the scene said: 'I didn't see the stabbing. We were driving past at the time. The man was walking around in the middle of the road and he collapsed. My friend performed CPR. It must have been for about five minutes until the ambulance got there.

'No one wanted to help at all but she helped within seconds. He was passing away but she kept it up. I don't know how he is getting on now but he would have died if she wasn't there.

'Everyone was doing their job so no one said anything to her, not even a thank you.'

A man, Kozma Dhaskali, 32, is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates Court today charged with attempted murder.
