Head lice are small, wingless insects which feed on human blood and are very contagious, sometimes they can be difficult to remove. Most of the time kids in the school get them but it is no surprise if an adult gets them too. It is best to remove them soon as possible because they multiply very fast, if they are not removed they can cause infection.
There are all sorts of shampoo products for this particular reason, but they can be pretty expensive and some of them are not effective. Then there i’s the infinite combing which can last or hours and still leave some of these pesky parasites behind. But we can help you.
This is a home made remedy which is very effective and if there is a case from head lice you should definitely try it.
You need:
- Listerine mouthwash (You can use another brand)
- Lice comb
- White vinegar
- A couple of towels
- Shower cup or plastic bags
First,wash the hair with mouthwash until it is completely wet. Wrap the hair with a plastic bag or cover it with a bathing cap. Leave the cap on and after one hour remove the cap. Next wash the hair with vinegar and cover it again with a cap for an additional hour, then remove the cap and wash your hair with regular shampoo. In the end comb your hair with the lice comb and that i’s it.The key of this trick is the strong smell of peppermint, this parasites can not survive the strong smell of peppermint.As a precaution measure you can pour some listerine in a small spray bottle and spray some on your kids hair before going to school.
