On Wednesday June 8, concerned local residents called the police over suspicious activities by a 25-year-old Nigerian drug dealer in East Rand, South Africa.
Drug Enforcement Unit swooped into the area around 4am that morning after receiving a tip-off.
Police spokesperson Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago, said the metro police put the man under surveillance in the early hours of the morning – along Paul Smith Street where he plies his illicit trade.
At around 7.45am police confronted the suspect and found him in possession of drugs in block form, estimated to be worth R15 000 on the streets.
Along with the drugs – three cellphones and cash amounting to R160 were also confiscated from the suspect.
The 25-year-old Nigerian man was charged at the police station with possession and dealing in illicit substances and is expected to appear in court soon.
