Ethiopian marathon runner Mulle Wasihun suffered soft tissue abrasions to his leg after he was attacked by a stray dog whilst running in India.
The incident happened at the TCS World 10K marathon in Bengaluru, India on Sunday, when he was leading the race. Reports indicate that the runner, who had initially lost his way due to poor markings along the route, was attacked by a stray dog which bit his left leg.
He was treated for his injuries and avoided any further infection. Needless to say, he lost the race after finishing 9th, only earning a reported $1,500 despite being on course to winning $23,000.
