A jealous father in a secret relationship with his 16-year-old daughter has brutally murdered her new boyfriend in cold blood by stabbing him several times in the stomach with a knife.
According to reports, Simon Sikireta, ran away after committing the evil crime which left villagers shell-shocked. The incident took place in Zimunya, Kenya.
The deceased 17-year-old Knowledge Putsai was doing Form Three at Munyoro Secondary School in Zimunya.
The daughter's boyfriend was murdered at the suspect's home. Detectives investigating the care revealed that an assortment of allegedly stolen household items that were hidden in one of the rooms at the compound after the murder.
Worried neigbours thronged to the apartment to identify some of the stolen items as theirs.
According to Manica Post, scores of mourners were gathered trying to come to terms with the baffling incident.
Detectives revealed the man had killed the daughter's boyfriend because he was in an incestuous relationship with his daughter since 2013, but was threatening her with death if she ever told anyone.
It is alleged that on the fateful day, he came home on Tuesday afternoon at around 5pm and saw Knowledge playing cards with his daughter.
It is alleged that he had once heard rumours that his daughter was now dating Knowledge.
“When he saw the teenager, he got jealousy and assaulted him. He later produced a knife and stabbed him in the stomach.
“After committing the crime, he bolted from the scene leaving his daughter to attend to her boyfriend who was bleeding profusely,” said a villager who spoke on condition of anonymity.
She watched him die.
His body was taken to Mutare Provincial Hospital for post mortem. Detectives recovered stolen items such as clothes, generators, fridges, sub woofers, television sets as well as several mobile handsets. When interviewed the girl confirmed that she was in love with her father and had slept with him several times since 2013.
She also confirmed that she was in love with Knowledge.
