Man sets self ablaze over misunderstanding with sister

It was gathered that the man, Michael Okoro from Ufuogene village in Umudomi, Onicha Igboeze Autonomous Community in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was so angered after the misunderstanding with his sister identified asJoy Okoro, that he drenched his body in kerosene
and set fire on himself.
One Sylvester Eze who witnessed the gory act, narrated that Okoro and his sister had a serious misunderstanding and brought out a machete to kill the girl but she managed to escape and in his vexation, decided to kill himself.
“Okoro had a serious misunderstanding with Joy to the extent that he brought out a machete to kill her but the girl fled.
In anger, the man came back, grabbed a keg of kerosene, emptied it on his body and instantly lit a match on himself,” Eze said.
Eze added that some people raised an alarm but before others could go to his rescue, he had sustained a high degree of burnsand was rushed to Onicha General Hospital but was referred to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, but died before he could be rushed there.
However, a family member claimed that Okoro had a psychological problem and has been battling instances of madness for long.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP George Okafor, confirmed the incident, saying as the family members were making arrangements on how to transfer him to FTH, Okoro gave up the ghost and his body has been deposited in a morgue.
